Search Engine Optimisation Case Study - Index Computer Systems
Index Computer Systems, a division of the K3 Group, is a major UK provider of Enterprise Resource Planning software solutions into key market sectors.

These include fresh produce, food processing and distribution, manufacturing, wholesale and distribution and the music sector.
The company, which is a major partner of Microsoft, sells and installs software that provides complete business solutions for managing core processes within small to large organisations.
This enables Index Computer Systems' clients to manage their logistics from receiving their goods right the way through to supplying their customers.
Index competes in a very competitive market and although it had a comprehensive website it was not highly ranked in the search engines.

Furthermore the website was generating limited sales leads from enquiries and yet it represented a key component of the company's marketing and sales strategy.
The company wanted to raise its visibility on the internet and dramatically improve its search engine rankings. Inparticular it wanted to have a major presence in the Google search engine for key terms in the industries in which it operated.
In mid 2007 Website DNA was requested to carry out a search engine optimisation project on the company's website. To learn more about the company and understand the industry space the company operated within, Website DNA had a number of meetings with the company..
A keyword analysis and a competitor analysis was carried out to identify the type of searches made by prospective customers. From the Index Computer Systems website the key web pages were selected to be optimised.
These web pages were then optimised using the keywords identified in the Keyword Analysis with keywords integrated into the coding and the text on the pages. Additional search engine optimisation was carried out on the overall site and a monitoring system was implemented to observe the results.
